1. I learned that you do not need an encredibly large wind mill to generate power, I learned that not all wind mills are the same, I learned that you can paint a wind mill.
2. A home owner could buy a wind mill, They could insulate their house.

I found out that with a windmill u can slow down the electrick box. Or even make it spin the other way. I also found out that during a power out wind mills turn off. The last thing i found out was that only one windmill can run one house.
The first thing is they can get a windmill to slow the electric box down. The second is that it will take there wind mills 8-10 months to pay itself back.
The only qwestion i still have is if they have any bad things to say about windmills.

3 facts I learned are, Wind turbines come in differnt sizes, If you create more energy than you need the extra energy will go to your neighbor’s house, and That there are restrictions to your windturbine in some places in Maine.
2 things some one could improve the way they use energy are, You could use flouresnt lights, and get some small windmills.

Three facts:
1. Wind turbines can come in smaller sizes.
2. There are no restrictions in Portland for having a wind turbine.
3. If your wind turbine produces more energy than you use, you can save it and use it when your turbine produces less energy than you use.
Two things a business or home owner could do to improve the way they use energy:

I learned that the meter on your house could spin backwards if excess of energy was created by a wind turbine, extra energy also went to your neighbor’s house if extra energy was created, and that smaller wind turbines can generate electricity in 3-8 mph winds.
To improve the way that a homeowner or business uses energy is they could firstly generate the energy that they use with windmills or solar panels or solar paint, and turn off (and unplug) any appliances that are not in use.
I still want to know how many days (average) each week the wind turbine actually spins.

1) I learned that a small wind turbine like that one makes almost no sound. 2) I learned that a wind turbine for your house would cost $13,000. 3) I learned that it pays itself back in 8-10 years.

Three facts I learned are:
1. The higher the wind turbine, the faster winds it will catch.
2. Solar panels and wind turbines create about the same amount of energy, but solar panels take longer to pay themselves back.
3. Birds have an instinct that allows them to fly around wind turbines before they would run into them.
To improve how your home or business uses energy, you can:
1. Install a wind turbine, or solar panels.
2. Find ways to reduce energy usage, like using energy efficent light bulbs, turn lights off when you leave a room, or unplug things that you aren’t using.
One question that I still have is: do all sized wind turbines pay themselves pack in the same amount of time?

Three things that I learned at Paradigm Windows are;
1. I learned that the shape and design of the propellor things on the wind turbine are to make a minimal amount of noise. It’s like the propellors of a submarine.
2. I learned that a single turbine MUST be hooked to a single house, but if it makes more electricity than that house uses than that unused electricity goes back onto the grid and that house gets paid by the electric company for supplying neighbors with their electricity.
3. I learned that the higher you put your wind turbine the harder the winds blow and thus the more electricity you get.
Two things a buisness or home owner could do to improve the way they use energy are;
1. They could install a small wind turbine.
2. They could install energy effecient windows.
One question I still have is why do the winds blow harder and faster the higher you go?

1. Three facts that I learned were that a small wind turbine can only cost around 4 or 5 thousand dollars, the energy that you don’t use from the turbine goes to your neighbors and you get a credit from CMP for your input, and I also learned that Maine has one of the biggest tidal systems but we don’t take advantage of it.
2. Two ways to reduce energy in a workplace or home would be to build a turbine to provide energy, or to turn off appliances or lights that are not being used.
3. One question I still have is how much energy paradigm windows uses even with their own turbine generating electricity.

1. One fact I learned is that the smaller wind turbines make less noise. Another fact I learned was that you can paint and decorate a wind turbine, I also learned that a wind turbine doesn’t have to be really big.
2. Homeowners could get their own wind turbine. They could also inprove the way they use energy by being aware of what is still on when they think it’s off. For example tv’s or microwaves.

Three pieces of information that I learned at the Paradigm Window company were that the contractors built the turbines with three blades because they did not want them to look bulky, but yet they needed to produce enough energy. Another fact I encountered was that you could go above and beyond with the design of your turbine. People who live on farms with a lot of cows could paint their turbines somewhat black and white. I also learned that the wind turbines automatically turn off when the wind in the air reaches the speed of 60 mph. After waiting 6 minutes, the turbines will check and see if the wind has lowered in speed.
2. Two things that a business or homeowner could do to improve the way that they use energy are that they could develope their own wind turbine in their yard or farm, however it can be a hassel to get one if you are a busy person. They could also switch their habits to using renewable energy sources. Even if a few owners start breaking the non renewable habit everyday, it will make a huge impact on the human economy.
3. One question I still I have is about wind turbines effecting the airplanes flight path. Were the turbines placed in safe locations to avoid aircraft collisions?

Three facts of infomation that I learned was there are different types of blades on wind turbines some are small but quieter and some are big but more louder, you can design your own wind turbine, and the wind turbines shut off when winds reach 60 mph winds.
Two things a business or homeowner could do to improve the way they use energy is switch to a renewable resources and you should get a wind turbine because it save energy and creates no indangerment to the environment.

1. The three facts I learned is that you can paint the blades what ever color you wanted too, there’s a device that controls or to see how many voltage there are in the wind turbines, and third, it doesn’t matter how high, or how small the wind turbines are.
2. One way to save energy is that, if you have energy that you don’t use, you can turn it off, or unplug it. You can install a wind turbine or a solar panel.

1. Three facts I learned was that one of the small wind turbines weighted about 170 lbs. I learned that extra electricity that your wind turbine produces goes to your neighbors. I also learn that you don’t get any electric bills because you produce your own electricity.

I learned that you can save about 50% off of your electricity bill (more or less depending on how windy it is). I also learned that the electricity is tied right into the CMP lines so it goes strait to your house and slows down or spins your electricity meter backwards. Lastly, I learned that if you make more electricity than you can use, they give it to your neighbors and CMP pays you.
2. A buisness or home could either install a wind turbine, or they could use solar pannels. Both would generate electricity and save them money, not to mention the enviroment.

1. Three facts I learned are that on some wind turbines, the blades can move aound on their own so whenever wind is blowing, the turbine is spinning. I learned that wind turbines don’t have to be huge to work, they can be as small as one of blades being as long as your forearm. I learned that there’s kind of a remote to some wind turbines that let you shut it off or check how much electricity it’s making.
2. To save energy you can install wind turbines or solar panels and turn off things that use electricity whenever you aren’t using them so that you aren’t wasting anything.

1.- I didnt think that a smaller wind turbine would work.
- I didnt know that there were smaller win turbines that you could put on top of buildings.
- I learned that in some places you can earn benefits for puting wind farms on your land. Like getting reduction on your taxes.

I learned that a wind turbine is as much a threat to birds as windows are. I also learned that having a wind turbine reduces how much you rely on fossil fuels by 40% to 120%, depending on how much electricity you use. I learned that wind turbines don’t have to be white and that you can paint them any color you want.
One thing you can do to save energy is have a wind turbine or solar panels. Another thing you can do to save energy is to not use lights when you don’t need them and unplug things you aren’t using. How many wind turbines are there in North America compared to Europe?

I learned that Maine has the 17th best wind. I learned that wind turbines aren’t really that bad for birds. I learned that you can have a remote for smaller windmills that tell you how much energy is being produced.
You can get a windturbine or you can just shut things off if you don’t need it or you aren’t using it.

I learned that Maine has some of the best winds but we don’t use the wind to power homes. I also learned that Paradigm Windows uses wind power to power a little bit of there factory. I learned that Maine has some of the best waves, so tidal power would be good to use, but we don’t. Two ways a buisness/home could improve the way they use electricity is have solar panels and wind mills. How big is the biggest wind tubine? =)

3-I learned that the turbine outside their building cut 15-20 percent out of their energy bill. I also learned that not all wind turbines are gigantic, and that the science of them is so advanced now that certain windmills can spin in only 3 mph wind.

1- My question that I still have is: If there was a storm out at sea where a bunch of windmills were, and one of them fell over, would it be far enough away from the others that it wouldn’t knock any down?

I learned that the wind turbine provides about 15% of the factory’s electricity. I also learned that the taller the wind turbine, the more wind it can catch and the more energy it can create. Another thing I learned is that since a lot of people that want wind turbines cannot afford them so they get investors to pay for them.

1. Windmills can cost between $500 and $1,000.
2. Cape Elizabeth has laws against wind power.
3. Sometimes windmills do not spin.
Some things that a homeowner can do to improve there environmentaly friendlyness are to put up a clothesline instead of a dryer. Something else that would be good to do would be to switch to solar power.

I learned that windmills NOW can start producing at a really loud speed but the OLD windmills had to get up to a higher wind speed to start producing.
The higher up the windmill is, the better.
If you put a regular windmill on top of your house, it would blow the roof off your house.
Their windmill produces 800 killa watt hours a month. That’s enough for an average family or four.
TWO:
They could put up a wind turbine like Paradym Windows has.
They could turn off lights when they are not using them. A lot of the times they have lights on all the time and they’re not even in there.

3- I learned that they cost a lot to install. I learned that they take about 7 -10 years to get your investment back. I learned that after that, you end up saving a lot of money.

1. The 3 facts that I learned was that when we grow up we have to pay more electericity bills then the adults have to today. the second fact I learned was that if we install one wind turbines we will have to cut down 6,00 pounds of pollution.
