1]One thing I learned about King’s energy is that it uses the most energy out of all the middle schools in portland.
2]We can use less energy by taking out some of the lights in the ceiling in the rooms that have more than 50 fc.
3]One thing I could do at home is turn off all the things I’m not using. Also I could use a power strip to turn things off permanently.

1. I learned that King uses the most enegery per student out of all the middle schools in Portland.
2. We should take out some of the lights, because it is too bright, and lights use lots of electricity. Also, we should only charge laptops for as long as they need to be charged, and then unplug the chargers.
3. I always leave my cell phone and ipod chargers in my wall, and they use up enegery that isn’t being used. Also, I should try harder to turn lights out when I’m not using them.

1. I learned that King uses the most energy out of all three middle schools.
2. We can shut off things that don’t need to be on, not use the lights as much, and take out lights in rooms where there is too much light.
3. We can shut things off that aren’t being used, use lights less, turn the heat down lower and just dress warmer, and dry clothes on a drying rack instead of in the dryer.

1. What I learned about King’s energy use is that we have less kids and we use more electricity. We use more electricity than Lincoln and Lyman Moore and they both have more kids than King.
2. To improve energy use at King, we can take out lights near windows and keep the ones that are not near windows. We can also turn off lights more often.
3. I can turn off the t.v. by switching it off, I could go outside more often instead of staying inside. I could turn off lights when I am not using them.

1. I learned that we use the most energy per student, compared in King and Lincoln.
2. We can turn off the things were not using and take out lights in rooms where there is too much light. We can also try to use less energy during the summer when there are not many people at the school.
3. At home we can use those cords that have plugs on them and turn the power switch off while were not using thingfs that use electricity. Also you can turn down the heat, and put a sweater on instead.

1. King uses the most energy per student out of all the Portland middle schools.
2. We can take out light bulbs from classrooms that have too much light. We can also have a timer on our laptop charger things so that they are only on as long as we need them on. Another way to save energy is to not have the refrigerators and other things that use energy during summmer vacation.
3. I can try to not leave the lights on all the time. I can also turn the t.v. completely off every time I see it on.

1.) I learned that King apparently in the worst of the three portland middle schools when it comes to how many kWh are used per student over the course of a year.
2.) To improove King’s energy usage we can take out some lights, add timers to certaim electrical devices so they will turn off on their own, and un plugg water foutainns.
3.) At home you can unplugg things that use remotes when they are not in use, turn lights off when you don’t need them and wear warm clothes instead of turning up the heat.

We are the worst energy consuming school in portland.
we need to turn the school of in the summer
I need to unplug my television when I am not using it.
Hannah C. // April 9, 2008 at 5:03 pm
1. From Mr. Kiffney’s presentation I learned that out of all the middle schools, King uses the most kilowatts of energy per student.
2. To improve King’s energy usage, we can use less lights or unplug the water fountains when there is nobody in the building (if we do not already.)
3. To reduce the amount of energy used at home, people can unplug things that they aren’t using. This can still use up a lot of energy. For example, the charger for my camera will still show the green light that shows it is charged up, even when the battery is not in the charger. This means that the energy it takes to charge up my camera is being used even when I don’t need it.
Connor J. // April 9, 2008 at 5:03 pm
One thing that I learned about King’s energy use is that there is still a great amount of energy being used during the summer months.
We could take out light bulbs, unplug laptop chargers during school, or turn off the lights during the school day.
At home we can unplug electronical devices we’re not using, unplug unnecessary appliances; and a major change is insulating the house.

1. I learned that King uses more energy during the winter than it does in the summer months. This is because of a few reasons. First, there are more people there during the school year, so they use more energy. Secondly, it’s colder and darker in the winter, so we have to use more lights and more heat.
2. To improve King’s energy use, we could unplug things when they are not in use, we could unplug laptopts when they are fully charged and we could turn off more lights.
3. At home to improve energy use, I could unplug the TV and stuff like that. I could also use floresent bulbs and turn off the lights when I wasn’t using them.
Sean B. // April 9, 2008 at 5:05 pm
1. One thing that i learned is that out of all three Portland Middle Schools King uses the most energy per every student.
2. We could start using as many lights as we need. We could remove soem lights from each classrooms ceiling and we could only charge the labtops as much as they need to be charged and then we could unplug them to save very important electricity.
3. I could probably unplug my cellphone when it is done charging instead of leaving it plugged into the wall. I could also turn off lights in my house when I am not using them. I should turn my room light off when I am in the living room watching television.

1. One thing I learned about King’s energy is that we have the kids than Lincoln and Moore, but we use more energy than them.
2. To improve King’s energy use, we can take out lights that we don’t need. We could also unplug laptops that are fully charged. That way they are completely off and we would save energy.
3. There are many ways I can reduce the amount of energy I use at home. I can turn off lights that are not in use. I can also unplug things that we are not using so that they are completely turned off and not using energy that isn’t needed.
Natalie A // April 9, 2008 at 5:06 pm
1)One fact I learned from Mr. Kiffney’s presentation is that even though things may look like they are off they are still using a little bit of energy.
2) One way you could improve kings energy use is by unpluging things when they are not in use. You could also be extra careful about turning off the lights as you leave the school.
3) One way you could improve your energy use at your home is get rid of your seconed refigirator. This could improve your energy use this way because refigirator are a huge energy sucker upers.

1.) King uses more electricity than Licoln and Moore and the lights in the cieling have 32 watts in them.

2. To improve our amount of evergy use at king, we could turn off the lights or take some out if it is light enough during the day. Also, we could make sure that lights are not left on over night and that appliances not being used are unplugged.
3. Some things I could do to improve the energy use at my home would be to unplug appliances when I am done with them. Also, I could try and make sure that no lights are left on during the day and that the heat is not on higher than necessary.
Keshia Thanephonesy // April 9, 2008 at 5:08 pm
1. I learned that King Middle School Uses the most energy source out all the portland middle schools, and King pays a lot for our electricity.
2. What we should do is 1 take out lights from rooms that uses the most, and 2nd, if it’s really sunny outside we should turn off the light and use the direct sun light and 3rd, instead of using the projector we should just present it on paper then recycle it.
3. What I can do home is instead of turning on the lights when I have dinner, and or if i’m in a certain room, we should use candles, even though my mom is a candle freak. When i’m watching t.v. I could turn it off doing activities, or read.

3) I can turn my tv fully off and also ask if we can get read off some of the heat in my sink.

1] King is using too many energy
2] We can just go back to no-electricity time
3] I can go to my friend’s house to play video games and never invite my friends over my house to play. Because it will make me use the energy in my house
